MICHELLE LEWIN

Visual Communication Consultant

Michelle LewinMichelle Lewin established Visual Communication Consultants in 2014. After moving to the Kimberley region in 2004, she was mesmerized by the regions beauty, culture, and landscapes but astounded by the lack of services and supports for Deaf people and people with complex communication difficulties. Michelle has worked throughout Western Australia, with many years residing in the North West of Australia. She has worked with people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds with Complex Communication Needs (CCN), Profoundly Deaf, Otitis Media, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and Autism, to name a few.

She is a passionate presenter who delivers her courses and workshops professionally and interactively. Participants are encouraged to leave their inhibitions at the door; this way, they are guaranteed to enjoy themselves. Michelle works closely with participants, in the capacity of presenter, consultant, and mentor to continually support you both at the workshop and into the future.

She has a personal connection as she spent her childhood with her deaf foster brother. 35 years ago, he was forbidden to sign and would get his hands smacked at school. This led to her sister and herself trying to learn what they could and him teaching them what he knew so that they could communicate. This has made Michelle heartfelt about what she does, making her a great trainer!

Michelle looks forward to meeting and working with you and your team in providing quality, customized, affordable courses, workshops, and customized programs. With her ongoing expertise and support, you will feel confident to learn, improve and maintain your Auslan, Signed English, and Key Word Signing skills.

Michelle is an Auslan Accredited Interpreter with extensive experience working in the Disability and Education sectors for over 20 years.
